About The Movie

It's September 1976 on the south shore of Long Island . Ads on the TV in the local bar announce “a change coming over America” with the upcoming Ford-Carter presidential election, while a group of friends are forced to embrace change as their small-town way of life is soon to be altered forever. A funny, heartfelt story about a tightly-knit group of friends, who try to maintain their small-town way of life in the face of enormous changes in 1970s Long Island . Hunt and his best friends Frankie Lozo, Cons and Jack are hard-living clam diggers whose livelihoods are threatened by an encroaching corporation, forcing them to consider new directions in life.

“Diggers” stars Paul Rudd as Hunt, Ken Marino as Franky, Josh Hamilton as Cons, Rob Eldard as Jack, Maura Tierney (ER) as Gina and Sarah Paulson (Studio 60) as Julie. “Diggers” is a Magnolia Pictures release, written by Ken Marino and directed by Katherine Dieckmann.
